Celebrating the moments that matter

I paint portraits of people, pets, relationships, and the moments that make life meaningful.

My work lives somewhere between realism and memory. I want you to recognize the people you love, of course, but I’m not interested in simply reproducing a photograph with a paintbrush. I’m much more interested in the glance between two people, the hand resting on a shoulder, the tilt of a smile, or the flowers that somehow become part of the whole story.

That means I give myself room to play. Backgrounds may soften into color. Brushstrokes stay visible. Light gets a little dreamier. Sometimes the flowers escape from the dress.

The goal isn’t to make a painting that looks exactly like the photograph. It’s to make one that feels more like the memory.
